The current Nirvana build exposes AI-related controls for Page Summaries and translations, and may show other Firefox-derived AI options. Each feature should be checked individually in your installed version. An option’s presence does not mean it is active on every page.
Open Settings → AI Controls. Review the global switch, then the entries for Page Summaries and translations. You can keep a useful tool on while turning off another one.
Page Summaries can use a cloud provider and can be inaccurate. Translation processing and language packs depend on the installed implementation. Do not assume every AI feature runs entirely on-device; check the feature’s page for its current data path.
If you do not want AI-assisted page processing, disable the relevant controls. Ordinary browsing, bookmarks and tabs remain available.
In the current Nirvana build, Page Summaries and Translations are available and have controls. Other Firefox-derived AI entries can vary by region and release; do not assume a third-party chatbot or voice service is included merely because AI Controls exists. Open each entry to see its current status.
Page Summaries can process readable article text in a cloud service; translations depend on language resources and build behavior. Keep a feature disabled if you do not need it, especially for confidential pages.
The control shown in Settings tells you whether a feature is allowed, but it does not guarantee every page is eligible. Region, language, content length, connectivity and release flags can affect whether the action appears.
- Supported language
- Content length
- Region and connection
- Not a private tab
