Why cookies matter

A cookie can keep you signed in or remember a choice. A tracking cookie can also be used across different sites. Firefox-derived Total Cookie Protection aims to keep third-party cookies separated by the site that created them.

Where to check

Open Settings → Enhanced Tracking Protection and inspect the selected mode. The protection panel on a site can show blocked categories. Exact behavior can differ with the Nirvana release and chosen exception list.

What an exception changes

Disabling protection for one site can also relax cookie isolation there. Use an exception only to fix a real compatibility problem, then remove it when you no longer need it.
